Trustee - Peggy Sattler

Peggy Sattler was re-elected as Chair of the Thames Valley District School Board in November 2007 for a second consecutive term, and represents London Wards 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. She was first elected to the Board of Trustees in November 2000, representing former London Wards 2 and 3. Peggy serves on several Board Committees, including the Chairs’ Committee, the Long-term Community Partnerships Committee, the Environmental Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors for the Thames Valley Education Foundation, and is the Director of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association. Peggy is also an ex-officio member of all Board Standing and Ad Hoc Committees.

Within her community, Peggy acts as Community Representative for the City of London’s Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee. She has also previously volunteered with Women’s Community House in London.

In previous years, Peggy has held the positions of Vice-Chair for the Thames Valley District School Board (2004-06), Chair of the Information Committee of the Whole (2003), Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee to Address Discrimination against Gay and Lesbian Students (2003), and Chair of the Budget Advisory Committee (2002-03). She has also previous served as Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Parent and Student Expenditures.

Since 1999, Peggy has been a Research and Communications Consultant specializing in issues of access to post-secondary education, early learning and child care, and the employment of people with disabilities.
