Teachers and students: sign up and use the forum (here)

Talk to S.Y.nergy organizers, teachers, mentors, UWO engineers, TVDSB representatives, and other teams

An interactive forum was set up on the S.Y.nergy website and can be found here.

To be a member of the forum, please register an account. A forum administrator will then classify you into your user group (student, teacher, Western engineer, etc).

A forum is a tool that is great for communication between many, many people. Doing so through email often gets confusing (34 new emails a day, anybody?), especially for those of us who have still not switched to gmail.

A forum, however, is specifically designed to be the backbone of such communication; ideas are classified into categories and further classified into topics. Everyone’s messages can be seen by everyone else, and anyone can post replies to any message. Think of a forum as an intermediate step between email and a chat room.

The S.Y.nergy Forum is a good place communication with just about anyone in the project – S.Y.nergy team members, members of other design teams, teachers from all participating schools, TVDSB representatives, UWO engineers, and UWO mentors.

The forum can be a great tool for you, especially if you are confused about something, have a question, have a suggestion, or want to voice concerns. The forum allows you to seek these responses from experts and the S.Y.nergy organizers directly, as well as communicate and share with other design teams. When everyone actively participates there is a great community feel to the forum.

Unfortunately, if nobody participates in the forum it becomes rather lifeless and boring. The forum is a great tool, but only if you use it.

Important project updates will be posted on the forums as well as on the S.Y.nergy website. However, smaller contentions are often confined to the forums for discussion between everyone involved in the S.Y.nergy Challenge. Major project concerns may be discussed on the forums to arrive at a consensus, after which only the final outcome will be posted on the website. Therefore the forum is also a great place to keep your finger on the pulse of any developments.
