As you are considering employment with the Board, you should know that Thames Valley is one of the largest boards of education in Ontario. It covers Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford Counties and the City of London. We currently have approximately 76,000 secondary and elementary students supported by 8,000 teachers and support staff making us one of the largest employers in southwestern Ontario.
We administer 154 elementary and 30 secondary schools with one twinned unit and 14 unique facilities ranging from outdoor education centres, a school for the arts, adult reading programs for the elderly and care and treatment centres in 19 sites for students aged 3 to 18.
The Thames Valley District School Board is guided by a Mission Statement that contains a clear vision, values and goals. Our new mission statement is "Improving Student Learning." It will be supported by defined goals that we feel will move our system forward and improve our ability to help our students learn.
At its root is Thames Valley’s Vision of a Caring, Learning Community that is committed to placing the needs of students first. Whatever the issues the Board may face, our clear focus is always on the needs of students.
