Litterless Lunches... Can We Reduce the Garbage And Increase the Reuse?

       Litterless Lunches

           At Lord Elgin

October 21-24 2008.

Check out our October 2008 Results...WE ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

Sorting the Garbage in the Green Bin, Recycling in the Blue Bin.

Here is the recycling...we are double checking to be sure that it is all genuine Recyclable materials.

Weigh in Time....

Eager to chart the results.

Wow look at those results...we reduced our garbage from 8lbs to 4. And Recycling down to 1 pound. These results indicate a greater use of resuable materials in lunches.

Even better on Wednesday  we maintained our early gains and results.

But Thursday told a new story....

Garbage went down a 1/2 pound while increasing the recycling.

This suggests greater use of prepackaged lunches...so the question is are

we packing less healthy lunches as the week goes on?

We have dramatically improved our results over our first campaigns where we averaged 7-8lbs of garbage a day and only 1 1/2 lbs of recycling.

The long term real CHALLENGE is to PACK A HEALTHY LITTERLESS LUNCH EVERY DAY. Check out the ECO CHALLENGE on the Litterless Lunch Main Page.
