Aboriginal Music Project  This page for the non-profit organization created to advance the cause of Australia's aboriginal music. News, information, and a "wish list" of things the organization needs are included if you're interested in helping out.
American Music Conference
  A comprehensive site that caters to all who recognize the importance of music and music education.
Arsis Press: Concert Music by Women Composers
  Arsis Press publishes the concert and sacred music of 40 women composers, and this site details the available works. Don't miss the reprint of a Washington Post article about Clara Lyle Boone and the history of her work in getting women's music published and played (against great odds!).
Arts Edge  The Kennedy Center created this compelling site, which features all aspects of the arts: music, dance, fine arts, and more. An awesome resource for students, teachers, parents, and art lovers.
BMG Classics  An extensive guide on classical music, for everyone from beginners to experts. Lots of information, arias of great operas, and a multimedia concert hall featuring video clips of great performances.
Broadway World Wide Theatre  Playbill On-line links to US and international shows.
Broadway (NY) Current Shows  Information and links to current Broadway shows.
Catalogue of Classical Composers  A content-rich site which seeks to be a reference to the history of classical music through brief biographies of the composers.
ClassicalNet  ClassicalNet has "a wide array of informational files - over 2000 in all - about classical music, as well as over 1800 links to other interesting web sites." This site is divided into six sections: Basic Repertoire, Classical CD Buying Guide, Recommend Classical CDs, Composer Data, Reviews & Articles, and Classical Music Links, plus a search engine and discussion mailing list.

 

Dave's Wild World of Whatever  This is a very impressive array of links to just about everything music-related on the Net.
Digital Tradition Folk Song Database : Search Page A site for older students that allows keyword and title searching to over 6000 folk songs and includes midi files for some of them.
Early Music by Women Composers  Hear the music of early women composers, read about their art and contributions to their cultures, and link to an annotated CD discography. This well researched and documented source offers information categorized chronologically from Byzantine, Early Gothic, & Medieval through composers born before 1900.
Education @ GSPYO.com  This page gives you an introduction to the different instruments and their respective sounds, gives you an explanation of musical genres, and will help you learn to read music. The section on reading music covers the clefs, time signatures, types of notes, rests and symbols, and how to count. The genre section offers links to specific artists and other sites

Immersion in Music  This University of New Mexico project is designed to introduce K-12 students to music from around the world: rock bands from Russia, classical and even rap music from different cultures.
Internet Underground Music Archive  See clips from over 500 bands, publications, and record labels.
Jazz Online  An extensive source of reviews, articles, and information on the history and background of jazz.
K-12 Resources for Music Educators  This site has many resources and links for music educators and students in all levels of education.
Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators : Entertainment Music Links Links to more general interest music sites.
Medieval and Renaissance Music  Categorized and annotated, this is a collection of Web resources concerning early music, including general sites, catalogs, instruments, Gregorian Chant, and more.
MIX Online  Online Edition of Mix Magazine, Professional Recording , Sound and Music Production. Site contains reviews of new equipment, studio showcase, and many more sections.
Music Education Online  This site has online lessons and links for a variety of music resources.
Music of the World  Music of the World is a record company specializing in "traditional and contemporary world music." Choose a geographical area and learn fascinating information about its artists and the music they are creating.
Music in Latvia  Music in Latvia presents the groups, the personalities, and the institutions of Latvian music. You can read short biographies of a dozen composers, find out about competitions and courses, or click to the excellent Latvian links.
Music Education  This site has excellent weekly articles, archived, by an experienced music educator, and you are invited to comment on them and to read the comments of others. There is also a very nice collection of reviewed music sites, and you may add your own opinion.
Music Educators NATL Conference  This has links to different pages for music educators and an introduction to the organization.
Music Resources on the Internet An extensive list of music sites from Indiana University including academic music resources.
Music Staff  Find music teachers, music schools and music lessons anywhere in the United States.
Musicals Home Page  Information about dozens of popular Broadway musicals including a synopsis, song list, and related links.
Res Rocket Surfer An online virtual band: musicians throughout the world can participate in this online jam session, which utilizes MIDI signals in real time.
Resources for Music Educators  This is a site with both printed and Web music education resources listed.
Sibelius Academy Music Resources  Links to famous composers, different categories of music (jazz, gospel, classical, pop, and more), and music research and theory.
The Piano Education Page  This is a large page dedicated to helping people learn to play the piano, from lessons to software to finding the right instructor.
The Knitting Factory  New, alternative music is showcased on this site, which makes the user feel like an insider in an underground club. All ages will find something interesting and even compelling on this site.
The Classical MIDI Archives  There are 3,230 classical music files here in MIDI format, with an alphabetical listing by composer. Some of the more famous have their own separate links, with pieces. My computer played the pieces, but I would recommend a decent MIDI plug-in. (They offer a download.) This is a good page if you are researching a certain piece of music or movement.
The Costume Page  An extensive, well-organized set of links to online sources of information for those interested in the costume arts.
The Music Educator's Homepage  Created by The Fox Valley Regional Music Technology Center® of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, this site is intended for those who teach music in a classroom setting. Their curriculum section offers free "public domain" data for the use of students and teachers. Full enjoyment of this site requires a table-enabled browser.
The Music and Audio Connection  As it says, it's a connection. Mostly a series of links, but very comprehensive and impressive.
Theatricopia  A collection of links to musical theatre sites including shows, composers, and stars.
