Small Intestine Histology

The Small Intestine is divided into three(3) regions.

The first region that is connected to the stomach is the duodenum. The duodenum is probably the most important digestive organ. Bile from the liver, enzymes from the pancreas and intestinal glands are all dumped into the duodenum to digest food.

The second region is the jejunum and the third region is the ileum. It is in these parts that the tiny nutrient particles are absorbed into the bloodstream.
